FCHEBL FACTS & HISTORY
- World's only basketball league to have two participants from
2001-2002 to reach the Men's & Women's 2004 Division 1 Final
Four .
- 2002-2003 - 80% of the Boy League Players All-State or Conference.
- 2003-2004 Participants from the fall FCHEBL making-up 5 teams
in the State Tournament.
- 2003-2004 Over 100 college coaches attended FCHEBL from 9 States.
- TWO former FCHEBL participants played in 2003 NCAA
Final Four. Who were they?
- Steve Novak, Marquette , attended FCHEBL all 4 years as a player
at Brown Deer HS.
- Misty Bass, Duke, played at Janesville Parker and attended FCHEBL
for 3 years.
- FCHEBL stands for Future Collegiate High Exposure Basketball
League
- FCHEBL Pronounce it "Fishbowl"- a place to see and be
seen. The E is silent, but it stands for Excellence.
- This is the 7 th consecutive year of FCHEBL
- Over 200 boy and girl players from nearly 120 high schools in
Wisconsin and Northern Illinois are attending
- NCAA Women's Basketball Event Certification for 3 rd consecutive
year
- 24 boys are 6'5" and over
- 16 girls are 6' and over
- The majority of the players are honors students and rank high
in their class
- Many of the players are returning to FCHEBL for the
second year. Some are here for the third time!
- College coaches from Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Georgia, Illinois,
North Dakota, South Dakota, Ohio, Utah, and Michigan have attended
in the past
- As a result of attending this league, many colleges have recruited FCHEBL players
- Players have received scholarships as a result of FCHEBL attendance
- A high percentage of this year's FCHEBL participants received
conference honors in the 2002-03 season
ORGANIZERS
- Coach Kent Meyer, FCHEBL Director.
Kent is a 6 th Grade Social Studies at Elkhorn Area Middle School
. He has been a boy's HS varsity basketball coach in Michigan ,
Nebraska , and Wisconsin and women's coach at WCTC. In the
summers you might see him vending at the Brewers or as a ranger
at Geneva National Golf Course.
- Kay Meyer, FCHEBL Administrator, is
a full-time Walworth County Public Health Nurse
- Dennis Mandel, Commissioner of Officials in
the Milwaukee area, coordinates our excellent referees.
- Lance Meyer, Consultant, is a 7 th grade teacher,
basketball coach, and AD at Atonement Lutheran, Milwaukee .
- Carrie Meyer, Accounts, is a teacher, musician,
and doer of many tasks at Atonement Lutheran.
- Melissa Meyer Staude, Technical Assistant, is
a chemistry teacher at Grafton HS and mother of Luke.
- Scott Chapman, Personnel, is employed at WCTC
in the athletic department.
- Sarah Metzger, Coordinator of the timekeepers,
scorers, etc. is a senior at WLC.
